### RMIT’s vaccination requirements
In 2022, we’re excited to welcome our community back to our vibrant campuses, with most of your learning happening face-to-face blended with online and flexible delivery for some activities.
To ensure we are protecting the health and safety of our community, all students, staff and visitors must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption to attend any RMIT campus or facility.
The vaccination requirement applies to any RMIT-related learning activities and includes both indoor and outdoor spaces on any RMIT campus or facility.
This vaccination requirement will be in place until at least 30 June 2022. This means all students must be double vaccinated to attend campus in Semester 1 2022 and any other study terms during this period.
### If you are vaccinated, here’s what you need to do
If you are vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of your vaccination status at least 24 hours before to gain access to campus.
Any student attending RMIT Australian campuses must have received a COVID-19 vaccination approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration.
Evidence of your vaccination can include:
- Immunisation history statement available from [Medicare online](https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/medicare) (you will need a myGov log in)
- [myGov COVID-19 digital certificate](https://www.health.gov.au/initiatives-and-programs/covid-19-vaccines/certificates) (only available if you have received two doses). Please note: if you have received a third dose of a COVID vacine you are now able to [update your COVID-19 digital certificate](https://service.vic.gov.au/covid-19/add-covid-19-digital-certificate#third-dose)).
- My Health Record and Medicare online account
- Proof of relevant medical exemption - for details of what evidence to provide see question _"On what grounds can I get a medical exemption?"_ on the [Frequently asked questions page](https://www.rmit.edu.au/covid/faqs#vaccine).
Information on what type of [international vaccination evidence](https://www.rmit.edu.au/content/dam/rmit/documents/covid-19/2021/international-vaccination-evidence-06-01-22.pdf) RMIT can accept is [available here](https://www.rmit.edu.au/content/dam/rmit/documents/covid-19/2021/international-vaccination-evidence-06-01-22.pdf).
Here’s a [quick reference guide](https://www.rmit.edu.au/content/dam/rmit/documents/Students/Support_and_Facilities/proof-vaccination-guide.pdf) of how to easily access this information and examples of valid evidence.
Please upload evidence of your vaccination via the [online vaccination status documentation form](https://rmit.service-now.com/connect?id=sc_cat_item&sys_id=71295a4fdb3f3410a8d6077cd396199f).
Once you have uploaded your vaccination certificate, your student card will be activated and you will be able to access campus.
There are other COVIDSafe protocols for coming to campus. Please refer to the [Coming to campus page](https://www.rmit.edu.au/covid/coming-to-campus) for more detail.
### What this means for unvaccinated students
If you have not received both doses of COVID-19 vaccine, RMIT strongly encourages you to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Unvaccinated (existing) students without medical exemption can:
- withdraw without financial penalty; or
- be directed towards alternative program options which do not require on campus activities or alternative providers who may recognise their study to date as prior learning.
It is important to note that withdrawal from a course may prevent progression or completion of a program of study.
Students who have a formal medical exemption from vaccination will not be disadvantaged. They may participate in on campus activities with appropriate testing, or relevant adjustments will be provided to ensure progression.
We will review these vaccination requirements and arrangements before the end of the Semester 1 2022 based on the latest government directive.
