Dr Charles Ayesa graduated with honours from the University of Tasmania before moving to Sydney. He completed his training in Western Sydney before becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Ayesa's interest in skin cancer medicine began during his GP training. Since then, he has developed his knowledge and skills working out of clinics in Castle Hill and Seven Hills. He has pursued post-graduate training through the Skin Cancer College Australasia (SCCA). In 2015 he completed his Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery and in 2016 the Advanced Clinical Certificate of Dermoscopy with distinction. In 2018 he attained the highest mark of the part 1 fellowship exam and in 2019 passed the part 2 exam to attain fellowship with the SCCA.
He is actively involved in the education of doctors in the field of skin cancer medicine. He is the Australian Deputy Censor for the SCCA as well as on the education committee. He also is a tutor for the SCCA Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, a lecturer in the Certificate of Dermoscopy, an invited speaker for the annual Australasian Skin Cancer Congress and a blog editor for the Skin Cancer College blog.
He is a Senior Lecturer for the University of Queensland and a course instructor for one of the units (IMED7003) in the UQ Skin Cancer Medicine Masters Degree.
