Born Perth, Western Australia. Graduated Perth Institute of Technology / University of Western Australia (1968). Worked at Howlett & Bailey, Perth (1969–71), then Palmer & Turner in Hong Kong and Jakarta (1972–78), before establishing his own practice in Singapore (1979), where he held permanent residency until his death.
**Style** — Steeply pitched pavilion roofs, shaded walkways, abundant water features, and meticulous material craft. Described as defining tropical modernism and the "Bali architectural style".
